OUR TEAM
Thomas Chartier, PE, LEED AP, CPHC, Chief Executive Officer and C0-founder, is a licensed professional engineer, LEED accredited professional, and Certified Passive House Consultant with a background in mechanical engineering, most specifically in HVAC design. Mr. Chartier brings over 19 years of experience in the acquisition, design, construction and start up of energy efficient and environmentally sustainable buildings. Past projects include the first LEED Platinum and LEED Gold high rise residential buildings in NYC; the first LEED Platinum certified condominium building in Hoboken, NJ; the first LEED certified restaurant in Hoboken, NJ; and the first LEED certified office and retail building on Long Island. These projects all include various energy efficiency and conservation measures including on-site electrical generation through cogeneration plants and building integrated photovoltaic arrays (aka “solar panels”).
Mr. Chartier is the current Chairman of the Committee for a Green Hoboken; the Co-Chairman of the Hoboken Chamber of Commerce’s Urban Planning & Sustainability Council; and sits on Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer’s “Green Team”. Part time, Mr. Chartier teaches the Green Building Initiative, a four week course he developed with the NYC local union 32BJ aimed at educating building managers, superintendents and handymen about energy efficiency, health & safety, and environmentally sustainable building practices.
Paul Chartier CFA, Chief Financial Officer and Co-founder, previously spent over 15 years working in financial services at investment banks such as Bear Sterns, Bankers Trust, UBS, and Wachovia where he was responsible for structuring billions of dollars in financing transactions for hedge funds and asset managers. He received a Bachelors of Science in Accounting from Providence College in 1995 and a Master of Science in Computer and Information Sciences from Fordham University in 2013. Paul received his Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) charter in 2015 and is a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts. In his spare time Paul enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 daughters, serving on the board of directors of the North Shore Kiwanis Organization, and rooting for the Providence College Basketball team.
Meredith Chartier, WELL AP, Marketing & Sales, spent 10 years as a teacher before becoming an entrepreneur as chef and founder of Bellamy Kitchen. After collaborating on many of our projects, Meredith officially joined the Chartier Group team wearing many hats: overseeing interior design, marketing, sales and heading our retail operations. She is a WELL Accredited Professional who consults on the Health and Wellness aspects of Chartier Group projects.
